A little glossary of terms
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
A method of identification using radio frequency.
RFIS transponder (RFID Tag)
RFID data carrier. Can be in a label or in a rigid form.
R/W Unit
Read/Write unit ("A Reader"). Reads and writes tags as commanded on the Wisteq middleware program
Passive tag
Tag does not require a battery
UHF
Ultra high frequency. Frequency (866 MHz) at which the most modern high-performance tags operate. Long range, high speed, global standards.
HF
High frequency. The frequency (app. 13 MHz) is suitable for very short-range identification.
